| The academic program is oriented toward college preparation and provides opportunities that are adequate for entrance into any college in the United States. Intensive alternatives are available in the accelerated and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which are offered in a number of disciplines. The AP program is offered in the upper grades. Upon completion of an AP course, a student may apply for credit and/or advanced placement in the college or university that he will attend.

A student must earn at least four credits in the senior year and must be in residence one full year to obtain the University Diploma. While the University Diploma satisfies the minimum Memphis University School graduation requirements, it is important that both students and parents consult various colleges concerning their specific entrance requirements.
